The Otherside of Daylight

Temporary tears delay your entrance to the night, the otherside of daylight ready for your fall but still the stamina in you clings. I loiter at white lines watching red & green alternate until your sleeping breaths are contently exhaled via pretty little lungs conducting symphonies in nightlights.

BHS

My heart stopped when I thought her heart had stopped. She exhaled and a tsunami of relief washed over me, my cardiac muscle caught up on time and pounded like a snare for a full minute.

August And Everything After

We wake from a half-sleep at deafening dawn; a dreamless slumber severed in three doesn’t prepare us as it should for a day of work & childcare.

Harry Redknapp-esque eyelids haunt us from the get go, making vision a chore and aesthetics a no show. We do our best to put one foot in front of the other but fail spectacularly.

We pray we make it through the day:

THIS IS AUGUST AND EVERYTHING AFTER.
